Willerby, the UK's top holiday home maker, has released its second year's Sustainability Report. The report says that Willerby is still committed to doing things right and to a low-carbon future.
Driving Sustainability in Holiday Home Manufacturing
Willerby's CEO, Peter Munk, says that even though the market is tough, the company is still determined to keep its sustainability goals. The company balances long-term success with environmental responsibility.
"Sustainability can be a challenge, but we believe a successful future is also a sustainable future. Our commitment remains firm, ensuring our business model is built on strong financial and environmental foundations."
Key Achievements from the 2024 Report
🌍 Sustainability Milestones:
✅ In the 2023 fiscal year, 4% of waste was repurposed, reprocessed, or transformed into energy.
✅ 450+ solar panels installed, generating nearly 200,000KWh of clean electricity.
✅ 4,000 LED lights installed, leading to a 9.5% decrease in electricity consumption.
✅ Overall carbon emissions reduced by 10% between 2022 and 2023.
🚀 Future Plans:
Exploring additional solar power installations.
Investigating wind turbine sites at its Hull headquarters.
