Truma has launched the RVcore 12V distribution unit, completing its iNet X System by bringing on-board electronics under the same control panel that already manages heating and air conditioning.
This is the first time a major component supplier has delivered a complete, factory-integrated system that controls climate systems and basic vehicle functions from one interface.
What Truma Has Actually Done
The RVcore 12V connects lights, water pumps, battery monitoring, and other 12V circuits to the Truma iNet X Pro Panel.
Previously, manufacturers had to install separate distribution units from third-party suppliers. That meant additional panels, extra wiring, and multiple control points.
Now vehicle manufacturers can specify one system that handles:
Heating and air conditioning
Interior lighting
Water pump operation
Battery status and charge monitoring
Solar input tracking
The RVcore 12V includes integrated current measurement, an SOS fuse for emergency reactivation of critical circuits, and software customisation options for functions like "coming home" lighting automations.
Wildax will be the first UK manufacturer to install the complete system. The setup debuts to the public at the NEC Motorhome and Caravan Show in October.
What This Means for Manufacturers
Vehicle manufacturers get faster production line installation and fewer integration headaches.
But the bigger shift is strategic.
Truma now controls the complete onboard environment system. That's heating, cooling, and electrical distribution under one supplier relationship.
For manufacturers, that means simplified warranty management and single-source accountability. For component suppliers competing in adjacent categories, it means Truma just expanded its territory.
What Dealers Should Watch
The RVcore 12V is an OEM-only product. You won't retrofit this into existing stock or offer it as an upgrade.
That creates a specification divide in the market.
Vehicles with the integrated Truma system will offer cleaner installations and simpler operation than those using mixed-component setups. Buyers comparing layouts will notice the difference during walkthroughs.
If you stock brands that haven't adopted the RVcore 12V, prepare to explain why your vehicles use separate control systems. That explanation needs to focus on what the buyer gains from your specification, not what they're missing from Truma's.
Why This Matters for UK Dealers
You gain three commercial advantages.
Simplified technical support
One control system means fewer diagnostic dead ends. When a customer reports a problem, you're not sorting through multiple panels and incompatible components to identify the fault.
Cleaner handovers
Training buyers on vehicle systems gets easier when everything operates from one touchpoint. That reduces post-delivery calls and speeds up the handover process.
Stronger aftersales positioning
Truma's established UK support network now covers the entire electrical distribution system. That matters when customers compare your service capability against competitors still using fragmented setups.
The Consumer Angle
Buyers get simpler operation and better reliability.
One panel controls the vehicle's core systems. No learning separate interfaces. No compatibility gaps between heating controls and electrical management.
The SOS fuse feature deserves attention. If the system fails, owners can manually reactivate essential circuits without dealer intervention. That keeps heating and critical functions operational until professional service is available.
Current measurement for solar, charging, and discharge appears on the same panel. Buyers monitoring power usage no longer need separate battery monitors or third-party apps.
The Industry Signal
Truma's move toward complete system supply follows the pattern established in automotive manufacturing.
Tier-one suppliers don't just provide components anymore. They deliver integrated systems that manufacturers install as complete modules.
This reduces vehicle manufacturers' engineering complexity but increases their dependence on supplier ecosystems.
For the UK leisure vehicle market, that means:
Fewer opportunities for manufacturers to differentiate through unique component combinations
Stronger negotiating position for system suppliers
Potential for standardisation across multiple brands using the same Truma setup
Watch how other component manufacturers respond. Dometic and Alde both have the technical capability to develop competing integrated systems. Whether they see the commercial case for doing so will shape the next phase of product development in this sector.
What You Should Do Now
If you stock Wildax or brands likely to adopt the system:
Brief your sales team on the single-panel operation advantage. This is a tangible benefit buyers can see and understand during demonstrations.
If your brands haven't announced plans to use RVcore 12V:
Contact your manufacturer representatives and ask about their electrical integration strategy. You need to know whether they're planning to adopt Truma's system, develop an alternative, or maintain current multi-component specifications.
For all dealers:
Review your technical training materials. The shift toward integrated systems changes how you diagnose problems and explain vehicle operation to customers. Your team needs updated processes for both.
The competitive gap between integrated and non-integrated electrical systems will widen as more manufacturers adopt complete solutions. Your specification knowledge needs to keep pace.
